Friends of the Earth is a member of Stop Climate Chaos Northern Ireland and on Tuesday 8th May we will be supporting a lobby event to be held in the Long Gallery at Stormont from 4pm -6pm.
The event will be a chance to meet with your local MLAs, along with other people from your constituency, to express your support for a Northern Ireland climate change act. We are campaigning for an Act that will commit Northern Ireland to strong legally binding targets for cuts in greenhouse gas emissions.
Climate change is already contributing to biodiversity loss as well as having devastating consequences for some of the poorest communities in the world who have contributed least to the problem.
The Minister for the Environment, Alex Attwood MLA, has expressed support for a Northern Ireland climate act and so now is the time to show him that we want action.
If you would like to join us on Tuesday 8th May please get in touch for further details.
Or alternatively you can contact Stop Climate Chaos directly.
Further details on how to get involved are available on the Stop Climate Chaos website.
