Tackling Peak Oil, Climate Change and Economic Breakdown

Licences for the exploration of areas of shale rock for gas which would be extracted by hydraulic fracturing (fracking) have already been granted to the Australian company Tamboran for parts of Donegal,Cavan and Fermanagh.

Anyone interested in learning more about this controversial process has the chance to attend showings of the film Gasland in various venues in the NW. Gasland was made by American landowner Josh Fox who was curious when he was offered $100,000 for use of his land to frack for gas.

Members of the Derry/Donegal group who have been busy gathering information about the environmental and health implications of hydraulic fracturing (fracking) will share this and facilitate discussion after the films.
