The Foyle Timebanking Network

 

during it’s initial pilot period

October – December 2011

 

Timebanking is a radical alternative to the capitalist money system. Based on firm principles of social justice, Timebanking redefines work so that everyone’s skills are equally valued. One hour’s work earns a credit which can be used for another hour’s work. As participants we offer skills to our community and match our needs with the skills of other community members.

We are suggesting some simple guidelines for making initial contact and negotiating agreements. Everyone is initially given two free credits to spend as you want. When you have completed an hour’s work, invoice your client who will credit your account.

 

Being part of the Foyle Timebanking Network, you will also be invited to regular get together sessions, where we can meet up and chat, share food, hear from other Timebanking Networks (already happening in Omagh and Belfast) and contribute to ongoing development.
