Creggan Country Park was delighted to receive £55,410 from Big Lottery Fund’s Reaching Out Connecting Older People Programme to run a five year project to encourage older people in the North West to become environmental volunteers and part in Bird ID workshop, Bat monitoring, Butterfly/Moth ID workshop, tree planting and wildlife documentary workshop.  The project aims to address social isolation, health, wellbeing and enhancing skills in older people through interactive workshops and reward days.

 

To launch the project, a free wildlife event will take place over the Easter break:

Friday 5th April

1pm – 4pm

-      Birds of prey

-      Face painting

-      Art workshop with local artist

-      Games

-      Walking trail

-      Planting activities with the Conservation Volunteers
