Tackling Peak Oil, Climate Change and Economic Breakdown

On the evening of Tuesday 4th June I was among 300 people in the Ardhowen Theatre in Enniskillen watching this powerful film made by young people in Fermanagh. All the information we need to make our minds up about the impact of fracking is here.

When you have watched it, then please make a submission to the DETI consultation on exploration for shale gas in Lough Neagh (before 14th June) to make clear to the NI Assembly that we don't want fracking in any part of Northern Ireland.

a suggested text for submission is here:

And here is the opening statement from the RSPB submission

The RSPB believes that the challenge of climate change demands a revolution in the way we use and
generate energy. We need to end our dependency on fossil fuels, massively reduce the amount of
energy we use and deliver environmentally sustainable renewable energy. We want this revolution to
take place in harmony with the natural environment.
The RSPB has argued that the natural environment must not be sacrificed in pursuit of wider public policy objectives, and this is the context for our response.
