Time Banking information workshop
Time Banking is an exciting new type of volunteering programme that offers potential for development across Northern Ireland. Time Banking is already being successfully practiced in a wide range of settings, including community groups, hospitals, jails and housing associations across the UK.
It was originally developed in the USAin the 1980’s by Dr Edgar Cahn, a Civil Rights Lawyer. After suffering a heart attack and feeling a sense of ‘uselessness’ while ill, he dreamed up a new way of exchanging skills and knowledge which didn’t require actual money, but still meant that a system of giving and receiving would flourish.
To find our more about how it works in practice and the benefits that can be gained for communities, come along to one of these freeworkshops:
Fermanagh House, Eniskillen, 8thOctober 09 - 2.00 pm to 4.30 pm
