Red Squirrel Spotting

Prehen Wood Local Nature Reserve
Saturday 2nd October 2pm
Local Red Squirrel Group

Derry City Council and Woodland Trust are hosting a red squirrel event at Prehen Wood, to celebrate Red Squirrel Week and the designation of the woodland as a Local Nature Reserve.
There will be a host of free activities, to include a guided red squirrel
nature trail by the Woodland Trust and a range of squirrel inspired activities.
Graham, the contractor for the ‘Peace Bridge’, created red
squirrel feeders from recycled wood materials and will install them in the
woodland. Why not come along and help install the red squirrel feeders and
the opportunity to feed red squirrels.

This event is part of the ‘Do One Thing’ project, funded by Northern Ireland Environment Agency, Derry City Council and Graham. Follow directional signage to Prehen House and Prehen Wood. Please dress
appropriately for the weather, by wearing suitable footwear and warm
waterproof clothing.
