Event Description

Transition Derry are starting to learn about Economics and Money Systems with six weekly sessions in March and April

Session One – What is Transition Economics?
Monday 2nd March 2009
7pm Holywell Trust Bishop St.

Transition Economics
The Transition Culture model emboldens communities to look Peak Oil and Climate Change squarely in the eye and unleash the collective genius of their own people to find answers to these BIG questions:
1. How are we going to drastically reduce carbon emissions (in response to Climate Change)?
2. How are we going to significantly rebuild resilience (in response to Peak Oil)?

Transition Derry, along with other Transition Initiatives, is also exploring a third challenge:
3. How are we going to meet our basic needs for goods and services (in response to the Credit Crunch?)

This is the first of the six sessions on Economy planned for the months of March & April - all welcome
