Event Description

QFT Presents: Crude
Queen's Film Theatre is screening the environmental film Crude from 29 January until 4 Feb 2010.
The film tells the incredible inside story of the world's largest oil-related environmental lawsuit, centering on the "Amazon Chernobyl" in the Ecuadorian rainforest.
With extraordinary access to the key players involved, filmmaker Joe Berlinger (Brother's Keeper, Metallica: Some Kind of Monster) and his crew captured all sides of a controversial, epic drama as it unfolded inside and outside the courtroom.
Alternately inspiring, funny, disturbing and infuriating, Crudeoffers a thoughtful and complex look at the issues surrounding human rights and corporate behaviour in Latin America.
The cinema is offering Friends of the Earth activists a special £1 discount on tickets. Just use the promotional code FOE10 when booking on their website or by phoning 028 9097 1097 (Wednesdays from 2.30pm, Thursdays and Fridays from 1pm-5pm, and after 6pm daily) or 028 9097 1335 (all other times).
